Computers are great when they are running fast and smoothly, but as soon as they start running slow, it's a different story altogether. A slow computer is a huge problem for millions of people and businesses throughout the world, but luckily, it's a problem which is very easy to fix, if you know how.
The problem of a slow computer is normally made out to be this extremely complicated issue which requires you to buy $100's worth of upgrades to fix. This couldn't be further from the truth, as most slow computers actually have a very simple problem which causes them to slow down. It all boils down to a hidden part of your computer, known as the 'registry'. This is a big database which lies at the core of Windows, storing all sorts of information about the hardware and software of your computer. Everything from your latest emails to how much hard drive space you have left, is all kept in this database, making it one of the most important parts of your system.
However, although the registry is one of the most important parts of your computer, it's also one of the most vulnerable, causing 99% of slow computers throughout the world. The registry causes slow PCs because of its importance. Because Windows needs to use many registry files to help it with every aspect of your system, it's constantly got 100's of registry files open. This is okay, but unfortunately, Windows is prone to getting confused, resulting in it saving many of these important files in the wrong way, making them corrupt and damaged.
When this happens, these important files become extremely hard for your computer to read, making it take longer and longer to process them, causing your computer to slow down. This is what causes a slow PC, and since Windows can't fix most of these corrupt files itself, it ends up collecting more and more of them each day you use your PC. Many computers have 1,000's of corrupt registry files, resulting in computers which just crawl along at a snail's pace.
This is the biggest reason for slow computers, and is almost unknown because the registry is a totally hidden part of your system. Luckily, there's an easy way to fix it, which even a beginner can do. You just need to use a software tool called a 'registry cleaner' to go through the registry and fix all the corrupt files that are in there. Registry cleaners scan every registry file and then fix any of the bad ones that they find, making your computer able to process more and more of these files in a quicker time. The more corrupt registry files you fix, means the faster your system will be, and this is the main reason why so many new computers seem to be so fast - because they don't have any corrupt registry files to slow them down.
